My client is an established mineral mining company. They been in business for over 150 years and currently operate 27 facilities throughout the US and Canada. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited school is required. • Registered Professional Engineering License is a plus. • At least 10 years electrical engineering experience. • Preference given to those with knowledge and experience working with and trouble-shooting of: o Allen Bradley based PLC control systems for process and equipment control as well as associated HMI graphics. o Large DC and AC motor drives control systems which utilize power electronics for variable speed control. o Electrical distribution systems ranging from 480V to 138 kV, including substations and MCC’s. o Fiber optic and Ethernet based communications systems. o Power factor correction systems. o Electrical systems in a heavy industrial environment. • Complete proficiency with Microsoft Office programs is required. • AutoCAD, MS Project, CMMS systems, highly desirable. • Other EE related software experience a plus. • Allen Bradley PLC programs (PLC5, ControlLogix, MicroLogix, and DeviceNet) to troubleshoot system challenges.

Electrical Maintenance Manager

Essential Job Functions: Include but are not limited to the following: (Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.) • Leads electrical department to ensure efficient execution of work in compliance with regulatory agencies and Compass Minerals safety, health and environmental standards and procedures. • Demonstrate leadership in safety through conversations and leading by example. • Provide clear expectations for performance and for safety, health and environmental compliance through setting objectives and KPIs. • Ensure safety incidents are thoroughly investigated and corrective actions are implemented. • Provide technical advice and/or provide access to technical resources to solve problems and execute work. • Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair process/production equipment, automation equipment, and PLC program faults. • Establish and inspire high performance by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback, and facilitating development through training. Continuously improve the skills/knowledge of staff to optimize performance and develop employees to their full potential. • Ensure all employees attend work in a punctual manner and that correct procedures are followed when absences occur. • Champion and support Work Order processes as well as the Reliable Asset (RAM) processes. • Ensure work plans and maintenance tasks are executed to specifications. • Ensure resources are available and utilized in an effective and efficient manner to meet budget and reduce costs. • Encourage team involvement, drive employee engagement, and address concerns, suggestions, grievances, etc. Resolve personnel issues and grievances. • Consistently maintain performance accountability and follow the site progressive disciplinary policies. • Ensure that all work areas are kept in a safe and clean condition. • Ensure clear communication is maintained and best work practices are established throughout department. Utilize safety/toolbox meetings to build safety habits and grow crew and department relationships. • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) of equipment failures and incidents. Promote mindful awareness of failure modes and preventative measures to mitigate failure mechanisms. • Support and execute Management of Change (MOC) process; awareness of when applicable and ensure full documentation is completed at each stage. • Ensure that mining targets are achieved through effective supervision of personnel, effective partnership with management, effective collaboration across shifts and departments, effective planning, organization, and allocation of work on each shift. • Monitor process performance and adherence and take corrective actions when/where necessary. • Contribute to cost efficiency of the department/shifts through monitoring and controlling usage of stores items, minimizing waste, ensuring that mine equipment is operated efficiently, ensuring employees are kept fully informed of duties, constantly looking for process improvements and cost reduction opportunities. • Collaborate and provide technical input into design and specifications for new and replacement electrical equipment. Education and/or Experience: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience in mining or heavy industrial electrical work • Minimum of 6 years of experience with 3 years management experience. • Competent Windows based computer skills as well as Microsoft Office software programs • Experience with CMMS system (JD Edwards Eone, etc.). • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. • Analytical and problem solving skills. • Exposure to continuous improvement methods (Lean/Six Sigma)
